About Kristy Cummings Photography
Kristy's career in photography began as she discovered her own sense of self and family heritage. "I was not going to allow those special moments in time to vanish, so I set out to capture them in pictures." Her acute awareness of emotions and sensitivity to diversity enhances her ability to draw out the special qualities each person brings to a photograph. After developing her skills by photographing her own family, she felt it was time to turn her passion into a profession.
Kristy Cummings Photography opened in 2003 as a small side business and as an excuse to spend more time taking pictures. Her focus was on children's portraits, but soon she was being begged to photograph weddings, seniors, families and was even asked to do some commercial work. In 2004 Kristy started taking pictures full time specializing in weddings and children's portraits. Kristy Cummings Photography grew even more in April of 2007 with the opening of a studio and gallery. While Kristy is still relatively new to the business, her always developing level of creativity and acute storytelling ability set her apart from other photographers. Her portfolio continues to grow as she constantly learns new techniques and searches for creative inspiration. When asked about her goals, she replied "...with every shoot my goal is to move people. I want people to feel what I feel, see what I see. I express myself through photography and when others are touched by my images I feel I have done my job."
